ARTICLE REPRESENTATION. The Employer acknowledges and recognizes the right of the Union to appoint, elect or otherwise select a Committee of not more than nine (9) persons (in addition to the President and/or Vice-president of the Union), which Committee shall be called the Union Administrative Committee, one of whose members shall be the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, who are authorized to represent the employees from time to time in discussions and dealings with the Employer in connection with any matters which may properly arise out of the administration of this Agreement. The Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and five (5) of the remaining stewards shall also serve on the Negotiating Committee of the Union and the Grievance Committee. The Union agrees to notify the Employer in writing of the names of the members of the Committee and of any changes therein. Persons serving on the aforesaid Committees must have a minimum of six (6) months seniority. The Employer acknowledges and recognizes the right of the Union to enlarge such Committee or Committees at any time by the addition of representatives of the Service Employees Union, Local who are not members of the Bargaining Unit and representatives of the Service Employees International Union who are not members of the Bargaining Unit when dealing with the Employer. It is agreed that meetings between the Employer and the Union Administrative Committee or the Negotiation Committee of the Union called at the request of either party will normally be held during regular working hours, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Employees attending any meeting within working hours, including ones dealing with grievances, shall suffer no loss of pay. In the event of either party wishing to call a meeting for the purpose of discussing union relations or matters arising out of the administration of the within Agreement, the Director of Human Resources, or their delegate of the Employer and/or the Union's President shall be notified in writing. The said meeting shall be held at a time and place that shall be fixed by mutual agreement. The said meeting shall be held within seven (7)calendar days following delivery of said notice in writing, except when such period of time is shortened or enlarged by agreement between the parties. ARTICLE REPRESENTATION. The Employer agrees to recognize the following Union Committees: A Negotiations Committee, an Relations Committee and a Health and Safety Committee. The privilege of committee members or Stewards handing grievances to leave their work without loss of pay or benefits to attend to Union business is granted on the following conditions:
ARTICLE REPRESENTATION. The Company shall provide the Union with a list of managers who will deal with the Union's Labour Relations Committee. The Union shall provide the Company with a list of the members of the Labour Relations Committee, which may include a representative from the International Office of the the Local Union Business Representative. Meetings between the Company and the Labour Relations Committee shall be held when requested by either party but not more often than once every month. Matters to be discussed at any such conference shall be listed on an agenda to be supplied by the Party requesting the conference to the other Party at least five (5) working days prior to the day for which the conference is requested, unless otherwise arranged by the Parties. The Company hereby agrees that it shall provide office with desk, chair, filing cabinet and phone for the Union. Meetings and contract negotiations between the Company and the Union will be convened during normal working hours and those in attendance will not suffer any loss of regular pay or overtime opportunity as a result of their participation in such proceedings. During contract negotiations (which shall be held at a neutral venue) between the Company and the Union, the Parties shall share equally in the payment of wages for the members of the Union Bargaining Committee which shall not exceed four (4) members unless otherwise mutually agreed. Accordingly, the Union will be billed for their share for the wages of the members acting in this capacity at their regular hourly rate with no additional burden assessed.
ARTICLE REPRESENTATION. The University acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select from the qualified members of the bargaining unit not more than fifteen (1 5) stewards. ARTICLE REPRESENTATION. The Employer will recognize a Grievance composed of not more than four (4) employees selected by the Union to be known as provided that no more than four (4) members of the Grievance Committee, including the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, shall be present at any meeting with the Employer. In order to provide proper representation for employees, the Union will appoint a temporary ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ to act in the place of any ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who is absent from work for a period of more than seven days. The Union will inform the Employer of the name of the appointee. Where an employee is required to attend a meeting in which a written warning, suspension or discharge is to be given, the Department Head or designate will inform the employee of his right to have a union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ present prior to taking up the matter with the employee. This requirement for union representation becomes null and void where the Employer has not received the names of union stewards, or the Employer given incorrect names or the employee fails to for a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ to attend the meeting scheduled by the Department Head within the twenty-four hours as provided above. Any disciplinary notation issued to an employee will be removed from his record two (2) years after the date of issuance provided the employee receives no other disciplinary notation of a similar nature within the said two year period. ARTICLE REPRESENTATION. The Negotiating Committee for the Board and the Negotiating Committee for Local Occasional Teacher Bargaining Unit shall be recognized in accordance with the provisions of the Ontario Labour Relations Act and Part of the Education Act. If the Board schedules negotiating meetings during a school day, a maximum of two designated members of the Negotiating Committee shall be reimbursed by the Board for any portion of their regularly scheduled work time or regular availability for time spent with the Board in attending negotiating meetings during that school day. "Regularly scheduled work time" pertains to Long Term Occasional Teachers who are replacing a member of the regular teaching staff on a long-term assignment. "Regular availability" pertains to Occasional Teachers who have specified that they are available for occasional teaching on the days or parts of days scheduled for negotiations. In the event that a designated member of the Negotiating Committee is required to attend negotiations meetings which occur during the period required to qualify for a Long Term Occasional Teacher Contract, the school spent at negotiations shall be considered as regularly scheduled school for the purpose of accumulating the required days to qualify for a Long Term Occasional Teacher Contract.
