ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. A. An employee may utilize annual leave for ASSOCIATION functions including attendance at conventions, conferences, and seminars, subject to prior approval of the sheriff. B. The negotiating committee may utilize annual leave in not less than 1 hour increments to attend collective bargaining sessions with the COUNTY. Use of annual leave for this purpose shall not effect bidding regarding annual leave scheduling. C. Upon receipt of written authorization voluntarily executed by an employee, the COUNTY will deduct ASSOCIATION dues from the salary of an employee who so requests. The parties shall agree upon the form of the written authorization. D. The ASSOCIATION shall indemnify and hold the COUNTY harmless against all claims, demands, costs (including attorney/s fees), suits, and all forms of liability and damages (including, but not limited to, compensatory, consequential and punitive damages) which arise or may arise out of or by reason of any action taken or not taken by the COUNTY pursuant to paragraph C above. E. The COUNTY shall provide adequate space in a conspicuous location at each departmental facility for a bulletin board for the use of the ASSOCIATION to enable employees in the bargaining unit to see notices posted thereon. The bulletin board(s) shall be provided by the ASSOCIATION, and shall remain the property of the ASSOCIATION. 1. All notices which appear on the bulletin board shall be posted by the highest ranking local ASSOCIATION official in the bargaining unit, and shall relate to a. ASSOCIATION recreational and social affairs b. Notice of ASSOCIATION meetings c. ASSOCIATION officers and committee appointments
ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. 11.1 The Employer agrees to provide reasonable access to the University's premises to representatives of Association of Nova Scotia University Teachers (ANSUT), Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), National Union of CAUT (NUCAUT), Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), Cape Breton District Labour Council (CBDLC), or legal counsel (or other resource people invited by the Association), provided that: (a) such access does not interfere with the normal operations of the University; (b) such access shall not include the right of such invited person to call meetings on the University's premises; (c) such access is for the purpose of assisting the Association in carrying on its business as representative of members of the bargaining unit; and (d) such representatives comply with all University regulations generally applicable to visitors to the University premises. 11.2 Subject to availability, the Employer shall provide the Association with suitable rooms for Association meetings as required, free of charge, provided this can be done without interfering with the normal operations of the University and that all University regulations generally applicable to meetings at the University are complied with during such use. 11.3 The Association may hold or sponsor educational functions such as lectures, seminars and workshops for members of the University community on the University premises, subject to availability of space, and to the University regulations generally applicable to such events. 11.4 Where operational requirements permit and with reasonable notice, the Employer shall grant time off with pay for the purpose of attending: 11.4.1 Contract negotiation meetings with the Employer; 11.4.2 Grievance meetings; 11.4.3 Association-Employer Committee meetings; 11.4.4 Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings; and 11.4.5 Other meetings with the Employer while serving as a representative of CBUFA. Such permission shall not be unreasonably requested nor unreasonably withheld.
ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. A. An employee may utilize either Association Leave as defined in Section C., below, annual leave, or compensatory time off for Association functions including attendance at conventions, conferences, seminars, and any meetings held during scheduled work hours in which discussion of Association business occurs, subject to prior approval of the supervising Sergeant, Police Chief and/or the City Manager. B. The negotiating committee shall not exceed four (4) members of the Association. The negotiating committee may utilize either Association Leave as described in Section C., below, annual leave, or compensatory time off, in not less than one hour increments to attend collective bargaining sessions with the City. Use of annual leave for this purpose shall not effect bidding regarding annual leave scheduling. C. Association representatives who are designated by the President of the Association may use Association Leave for the purposes defined in Sections A. and B., above, subject to the approval of the Police Chief or his/her designated representative. 1. To establish an Association Leave Bank for the uses defined above, a represented employee may contribute his/her accumulated annual leave or compensatory time off to the Association Leave Bank, subject to the following: a. Employees may contribute annual leave/compensatory time off in one hour increments; and, b. The Association Release Time Bank will be contributed to, and drawn from, on an hour for hour basis.
ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS a) All Flight Crew Members by virtue of employment by Sunwing Airlines, shall become and remain members of the Association and shall pay membership dues. The obligation to maintain membership in the Association is satisfied by payment of regular monthly membership dues. b) The Company shall deduct from all Flight Crew Members (including Management Flight Crew Members) regular monthly Association dues or the equivalent thereof. c) The Association shall notify the Company in writing from time to time as may be required, of the amount of its regular monthly dues. d) Deductions shall be made from Flight Crew Membersʼ pay each pay period and shall be remitted to the Association no later than fifteen (15) days following the end of the month in which the deductions were made. e) The Company shall provide to the Association when remitting Association dues, a list identifying Flight Crew Members for whom dues have been deducted and remitted and the amount of dues deducted and remitted for each Flight Crew Member. The Company shall also identify those Flight Crew Members whose employment has ceased during the period. When a new Flight Crew Member is placed on the list for the first time, the Company will include the address of the new Flight Crew Member. The list shall also contain the names of Flight Crew Members for whom no deductions were made. f) The Association agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Company against any claims of liability arising or resulting from the operation of this Article 3.1. 3.2. The Company recognizes the Executive of the Association, comprised of the President, Vice-President, and Secretary-Treasurer, as duly elected representatives of the Association. 3.3. The Executive of the Association may establish committees at its discretion, however, only members recognized in the paragraph above, or Chairperson of the respective Committees, shall communicate with the Company on Association business. Individual Flight Crew Members may communicate with the appropriate Company personnel at any time, with regards to matters of a personal and/or singular nature. 3.4. Effective on the date of ratification of this agreement, the Company shall grant The Association 125 time bank credit hours annually, plus 40 bank credit hours during a contract negotiations year as Association Administration time. ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. 3.01 The Association shall notify the Chief in writing of the names of Association officers and members of the Grievance and Bargaining Committees. The Association shall provide to the Chief such periodic notices in writing as are needed to keep the Chief currently informed. To facilitate a prompt response to an emergency recall to duty, the Association shall be allowed to conduct its meetings in appropriate locations within the fire stations of the City, free of charge, with the prior approval of the Chief or other officer in charge. If employees on duty are involved, such meetings shall occur after 6:00 p.m., providing, however, that members of the Association Executive Board who are on duty may leave the employee's assigned station to participate in such meetings with the prior approval of the officer in charge. The Association shall advise the Chief in writing, upon selection of the names of the Association officers and members appointed to the Grievance and Bargaining Committees. 3.02 The Association shall have the right to post notices on bulletin boards located within the fire stations at places approved by the Chief relating to social affairs or Association business. 3.03 Reasonable time from duty without deduction from pay shall be granted to not more than three employees acting as members of the Grievance Committee or officers of the Association for investigation and consideration of grievance and for meeting with the City, providing such investigations, consideration and meetings do not interfere with department duties. A grievant may also attend a meeting related to the grievant's particular grievance when on duty without loss of pay, providing also it does not interfere with departmental duties. If duties prevent a grievant from attending a meeting relating to the grievant's grievance, it shall be rescheduled to a time when the grievant can be present. 3.04 Notwithstanding the above, no employee on duty shall make such investigation, except for casual or informal conversations, or attend such meeting without prior notice to the commanding officer, nor shall any employee on duty at a station leave such station to participate in such investigation or meetings without the approval of the commanding officer. 3.05 Not more than four (4) representatives of the Association, whether Committee members or officers, may be temporarily excused from duty to attend a regularly scheduled negotiation session, if they are in the fire station or at the City Hal...
ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. 2.1 The Association shall conduct its business off duty as much as possible, however upon giving as much advance notice as possible and receiving approval from the Fire Chief or his designee, meetings may take place in appropriate locations of the firehouses as long as the meetings do not unreasonably interfere with the orderly and efficient operation of the department. Requests for such meetings shall not be unreasonably denied.

The ASSOCIATION may use the bulletin board to post notices or announcements regarding the business activities of the ASSOCIATION. The ASSOCIATION agrees that it will not post any material, which is political or disparages the CITY or any CITY official, or employee of the CITY. All notices and announcements shall be complying with applicable federal and Nevada state laws regarding illegal discrimination and/or harassment.
ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. Section 1: The Association shall be allowed to conduct meetings of the Executive Board and also special meetings pertaining to labor negotiations between the parties, the election of officers and directors or other corporate official business constituting something other than general monthly meetings, in appropriate locations of the firehouse during normal stand-by hours upon giving twenty-four (24) hours prior notice to the office of the Chief. Notices and bulletins concerning Association business or affairs may be posted on bulletin boards to be provided by the City providing that such notices and/or bulletins are authorized by an officer or director of the Association. Section 2: The aggrieved and Association officers shall be granted reasonable opportunity to conduct grievance investigations. The aggrieved and Association officers, and other Association members who are necessary witnesses shall be granted reasonable opportunity to attend grievance hearings without deduction of salary if such are scheduled or necessary when the employee is on duty. In the event that they are not available, Association officers may designate an off duty alternate upon notice to the Chief.
ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. S ection 1. Association Officer’s Time For the purpose of representation of members within the bargaining unit, the Association shall be allowed one thousand five hundred (1500) hours per fiscal year, for the President or designee, to conduct authorized association business, (Representations, grievances, conventions, conferences, seminars etc.) Should the amount of hours exceed the 1500 hour limit during the fiscal year, the President or designee, shall be required to utilize annual leave banks for authorized association business until the beginning of the next fiscal year. Absent demonstration of exigent circumstances, the Association agrees to provide the Chief of Police or designee, three (3) business days notice when submitting union time requests. The Association agrees to not exceed 3 individual requests for union time hours at one time, under normal circumstances, and no two association officers from the same shift of the Department unless authorized by the Captain of the affected Division. All union leave time will be approved by the Chief of Police or designee. However, the City is under no obligation to pay Supervisors for time spent conducting Association business when they are not scheduled to work. Every effort shall be made to schedule grievance meetings and hearings during regular work hours.
