Negotiating Committee. The Hospital agrees to recognize a Negotiating Committee comprised of representatives of the Association for the purpose of negotiating a renewal agreement. The number of nurses on the Negotiating Committee is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. The Hospital agrees to pay members of the Negotiating Committee for time spent during regular working hours in negotiations with the Hospital for a renewal agreement up to, but not including, arbitration.

Negotiating Committee. The Hospital agrees to recognize a negotiating committee comprised of members to be elected or appointed from the bargaining unit. Where the Hospital participates in central bargaining, the purpose of the negotiating committee shall be to negotiate local issues as defined in this Collective Agreement. Where the Hospital does not participate in central bargaining, the purpose of the negotiating committee shall be to negotiate a renewal of this Collective Agreement. The Hospital agrees that the members of the negotiating committee shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending negotiating meetings with the Hospital up to, and including, conciliation. The number of members on the negotiating committee shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

The Employer agrees to pay members of the Negotiating Committee for time spent during regular working hours in negotiations with the Employer for a renewal agreement up to, but not including, arbitration.

CENTRAL NEGOTIATING TEAM In central bargaining between the Ontario Nurses’ Association and The Participating Hospitals, a nurse serving on the Association’s Central Negotiating Team shall be paid lost from her regularly scheduled straight time working hours at her regular rate of pay, and without loss of leave credits, for attending central negotiating meetings with the Hospitals’ Central Negotiating Committee up to, but not including, arbitration. Central Negotiating Team members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of preparation for negotiations. The Association will advise the leave is being requested. Upon reference to arbitration, the Central Negotiating Team members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of attending arbitration hearings. Time spent on such meetings will not be considered leave under Article Leave for Association Business. The maximum number of Central Negotiating Team members entitled to payment under this provision shall be eight and in no case will more than one nurse from a hospital be entitled to such payment. The Negotiating Committee of those nurses to be paid under this provision. The Hospitals’ Central Negotiating Committee will make such request known to the affected hospitals. For any unpaid leave of absence under this provision, the nurse’s salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital, and the Association agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits. Negotiating Committee. The Employer agrees to recognize a Negotiating Committee of three (3) Union Representatives for the purpose of negotiating renewals of the Collective Agreement. The Employer agrees to recognize a central negotiating team. Nurses serving on the central team shall receive time off as required to attend negotiating meetings.
