Bonus Shift Sample Clauses
The Bonus Shift clause establishes the conditions under which employees are eligible to receive additional compensation for working certain shifts. Typically, this clause specifies which shifts qualify as bonus shifts—such as nights, weekends, or holidays—and outlines the rate or amount of the bonus payment. By clearly defining eligibility and payment terms, the clause incentivizes employees to cover less desirable shifts and ensures transparency in compensation practices.
Bonus Shift. If a shift needs to be filled due to urgent circumstances (such as a nurse calling in sick) the Hospital may designate the shift as a “bonus shift.” Regular full-time nurses that work a bonus shift beyond their status will receive compensation at double time. Part- time nurses that work a bonus shift beyond their status will receive compensation at time and one half (1½) their base rate of pay. Once a bonus shift is scheduled, the nurse is obligated to work both that shift and his/her regularly scheduled shift(s). A nurse who calls in sick within the week of the bonus shift will not be eligible for bonus shift premium pay for that shift. A nurse who is low censused within the week of the bonus shift will remain eligible for bonus shift premium. A nurse who works a bonus shift that does not qualify for bonus shift pay because of the nurse’s failure to work his/her regularly scheduled hours that pay period, will be paid at the nurse’s regular straight time hourly rate.
