BULLETINING OF POSITIONS. 5.2.1 New positions 19.1 Appointments under the provisions of this Article shall be made by the Hotel General Manager based on qualifications and permanent vacancies seniority. Qualifications being sufficient, seniority shall prevail. Applicant employees having greater seniority than the employee appointed may lodge grievances according to the provisions of Article 24 within seven (7) days from the date of the appointment. 19.2 (1993) When there is a vacancy in an established position or when a new position subject to the terms of this Agreement is created, a notice indicating hours of service and days off, if known, will be promptly bulletined posted to the seniority group concerned and the position shall be offered to the senior qualified employee in the seniority group. Should the senior qualified employee decline to accept the position it shall be offered to the other qualified employees in the seniority group in order of seniority until the position is filled. If, after following this procedure, the position cannot be filled, the Hotel may take whatever action it considers necessary to fill it. 19.3 An employee temporarily transferred from the Hotel to another Fairmont Hotels & Resorts shall continue to accumulate seniority in the seniority group from which transferred for a period of 7 calendar days to the regional local seniority group concerned, and will nine (9) months which may be awarded first extended by Local, then by District, then by Region in accordance with Article 5mutual agreement. 1.1. BULLETINING OF POSITIONS. 5.2.1 New positions and permanent vacancies 25:01 When a vacancy occurs in any department of the Centre coming within the scope of this Agreement, a notice will be promptly bulletined posted on a job posting board, which will be accessible to all employees for a period of 7 seven (7) calendar days. 25:02 If no applications to fill the vacancy are received from employees of the Centre as specified in Article 25:01, or if the applicant or applicants are not, in the opinion of the Centre, considered to be suitable for such vacancy, then the Centre may fill the vacancy from the open market, subject to the applicants’ right to the grievance procedure. 25:03 In considering applications, preference will be given according to seniority, provided that the applicant possesses the qualifications as prescribed by the Employer. 25:04 Job postings shall show location, title, rate of pay, normal days of work, normal days of rest and normal starting and finishing times. In the event of ill health or other extenuating circumstances, an employee may be permitted to revert, subject to agreement between the Company officer concerned and the Vice-Vice- President. 5.2.9 Employees promoted to expected or official positions as outlined in Article 4.2.2 released from such positions must revert to the seniority list and classification from which promoted, unless such classification is held by a senior employee. In such instance, an employee may exercise his seniority to displace a junior employee on that seniority list. Employees holding excepted or official positions must exercise seniority as provided in the preceding paragraph before being eligible to apply for a Scheduled position under bulletin. 5.2.10 When delivery centres within any local seniority list are increased, the routes to be operated from the new centres will be bulletined as to the terminal location of the route. When a numbered route is moved from one location to another, the driver of that route has the right to follow his route or exercise his seniority under the terms of Article 5.3.1location. 5.2.10 5.2.11 Bulletins and Awards shall be in the standard form, as illustrated with a copy to the Unit Chair: 5.2.11 Part time driver positions may be posted for less than 40 hours per week.
