Cabling and Racking. Where practically possible power and control cabling shall be reused, unless concerns have been noted with regards to the integrity of the installed cabling or specific cables have been noted to be below the minimum required cross sectional area for the Contractor designs. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure that the existing plant configurations are assessed and approval is attained with regards to any of the existing cables which are to be reused. Where new cabling is to be installed it is recommended that the contractor submits as part of the returnables a price list detailing the cost per meter of the proposed cables to be installed. See the LOSS in section 11. Any cable work which shall be damaged by the Contractor during execution of the works shall be replaced by the Contractor with a cable meeting the Employer’s specifications. Where practically possible the Contractor shall reuse existing cable racking, however if it is noted that the existing cable racking are found to be overloaded beyond the allowable limits it is the responsibility of the Contractor to design an appropriate cable tray and route taking into account all site constraints. Where the Contractor installs any cable racking, the Contractor shall ensure that it is earthed and that the rack complies with SANS 1574 and Eskom Standard 240-56227443. The Contractor shall ensure that signalling cabling (e.g. control and instrumentation, RS485, fibre cabling etc.) is not placed on the same rack as any power cabling. All Contractor cable work shall be compliant with 240-56227443 and SANS 1574.

The encryption solution must be full disk unless approved by the County Information Security Office.

  • Fencing The SPD shall Fence the demarcated boundary of the Demised Premises at the SPD’s own expense in every respect.
