CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP Clause Samples
The CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP clause defines the criteria and process for individuals or entities to become members of a specific chapter within an organization. It typically outlines eligibility requirements, application procedures, and any associated dues or obligations for membership. For example, it may specify that only individuals residing in a certain geographic area or meeting certain professional qualifications can join. This clause ensures clarity and consistency in how membership is granted, helping to maintain the integrity and structure of the chapter.
CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP. A. The College and Chapter acknowledge that faculty have, and are protected in the exercise of the right, freely and without fear of penalty or reprisal, to join and assist the Chapter or to refrain from any such activity.
B. Any faculty member who does not join the Chapter shall be required to pay the majority representative a representation fee in lieu of dues.
CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP. Membership in the Chapter is voluntary and shall be open to any eligible person interested in furthering the purposes of the Chapter and PMI without regard to race, creed, color, age, sex, marital status, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or physical or mental disability. Chapter membership shall commence when a PMI member pays dues to be a member of the Chapter. Membership qualifications and categories shall be solely as authorized by PMI, which allows for the category of student memberships. The Chapter shall not accept any individuals as members who have not first been accepted by PMI as members and shall not create its own unique Chapter membership categories. Membership in the Chapter shall terminate when a PMI member resigns membership in PMI or the Chapter; fails to pay PMI or Chapter dues; is removed from membership by the PMI or Chapter Board of Directors for just cause; or membership is otherwise ended consistent with applicable law, and the PMI and Chapter Bylaws and policies.

CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP. The primary chapter officers, defined as the president, president-elect, treasurer, treasurer-elect, secretary and secretary-elect, shall maintain current, active national AACN membership. Those primary chapter officers whose national memberships expire will lose access to the chapter portal, including the chapter database and Good Standing grid. Please note that a treasurer-elect is a strongly recommended position, as noted in the Chapter Governance Manual. AACN requires at least a chapter president and treasurer, as they are the two check signers. All other positions are at the discretion of the chapter; however, it is strongly recommended that all chapters have –elect positions so that a team leads the chapter, and for succession planning and chapter sustainability. All officer, Board and committee positions may be shared. National membership status is displayed in the “AACN Status” column of the chapter’s database; it is not reflected on the Good Standing grid. It is the chapter leadership’s responsibility to monitor this information and ensure all officers, as well as chapter members, have current, active national membership status. Chapter members must be members of national AACN. The terms and conditions of membership in AACN will be determined exclusively by AACN. AACN will be the sole owner of the membership list of names, mailing addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers of all members. The chapter will maintain the confidentiality of the member list and will not sell, trade, transmit, or otherwise disseminate the membership list, in whole or in part, to any third party without the express prior written approval of AACN. Neither the chapter member list nor the chapter database shall be used to personally benefit any chapter members or officers.
CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP. A. APT/FAPT members in a chapter’s area will automatically become chapter members.
B. Persons seeking chapter membership must first become APT and FAPT members.
CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP. No person may be a member of the Chapter unless he or she is also a member in good standing of IAWP. No person who is a member in good standing of IAWP and who pays all applicable Chapter and IAWP dues may be denied membership in the Chapter. Chapter membership categories and voting rights shall be the same as those established in the IAWP bylaws. All members may vote on chapter issues and hold chapter office. (Note: membership categories and voting rights may not be changed by Chapters.) Membership in the Chapter may be terminated for non-payment of Chapter or IAWP dues.

Chapter members must be members of National NABWIC. The terms and conditions of membership in NABWIC will be determined exclusively by NABWIC. NABWIC will be the sole owner of the membership list of names, mailing addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers of all members. Chapter will maintain the confidentiality of the member list and will not sell, trade, transmit, or otherwise disseminate the membership list, in whole or in part, to any third party without the express prior written approval of NABWIC. Neither the chapter member list nor the chapter database shall be used to personally benefit any chapter members or officers.
