Classification of Claims and Interests Clause Samples

The "Classification of Claims and Interests" clause defines how different types of claims and ownership interests are grouped for the purposes of a bankruptcy or restructuring proceeding. In practice, this clause specifies which creditors or stakeholders are placed into distinct classes based on the nature or priority of their claims, such as secured creditors, unsecured creditors, or equity holders. By organizing claims and interests into classes, the clause ensures that similar parties are treated consistently and that voting and distribution rights are allocated fairly, thereby promoting an orderly and equitable resolution process.
