Common use of Cleaning Allowance Clause in Contracts

Cleaning Allowance. Each member who is required to wear a uniform shall be paid the sum of $250 per annum for the cleaning of his uniform. Payment for such sum shall be made in equal installments on the 15th day of June and the 15th day of December in each year. It is further understood and agreed that the cleaning allowance will be pro- rated where the member is absent from work due to illness, injury or suspension or if the member is absent from work as a result of approved leave of absence (which does not include approved vacation leave) for a period or periods of more than thirty consecutive calendar days during the calendar year.
