Common use of Compensatory Time Use Clause in Contracts

Compensatory Time Use. 1. The Employer shall publish, on a monthly basis, a calendar showing time available for compensatory use. There shall be no fewer than six (6) slots per day, year round, available for compensatory time off. 2. Additional Ccompensatory time off may be used granted when a Relief Master is available for coverage. 3. A Master who wants to use their compensatory time must submit a request to the Employer not more than one (1) year in advance, indicating the number of compensatory days off requested. 4. Compensatory time requests shall be approved by the Employer, solely on a first-come, first-served basis, and seniority shall not be a consideration.unless, due to technical difficulties, the order in which the request(s) is received cannot be verified. Only in this case, will seniority prevail for the time period in question. 5. Compensatory time must be accrued prior to the Relief selection process. 6. Short notice requests for the use of compensatory time by phone may be granted.
