CONTRACT RELEASE. Teachers requesting a release from a contract shall provide a letter to the Superintendent to be considered by the Board of Education. Teachers who request a release form contract after the statutory notice period set for in Kansas Statutes shall pay to the school district liquidated damages, in an amount based on the following table for non- fulfillment of contract. When a teacher submits a request to reign after the statutory notice period, the Board of Education will consider all relevant factors in determining whether to accept or decline request. Ultimately, the Board of Education reserves the right to decline any such request that does not include at least one of the criteria listed in items 1-4 below, and may require the professional employee to fulfill his/her contract. Transfer of spouse more than fifty miles 2. Extreme illness 3. Death of spouse 4. Other special circumstances agreed to by the board of education.
