Conversion of Casual Seniority to Regular Seniority Sample Clauses

The 'Conversion of Casual Seniority to Regular Seniority' clause establishes the process by which an employee's time served as a casual worker is recognized and transferred to their status as a regular employee for seniority purposes. Typically, this means that when a casual employee is promoted or reclassified to a regular position, their accumulated service time as a casual is either fully or partially credited towards their seniority ranking among regular staff. This ensures that long-serving casual employees are not disadvantaged in terms of job security, promotion opportunities, or other benefits tied to seniority, thereby promoting fairness and continuity within the workforce.
Conversion of Casual Seniority to Regular Seniority. In the event that a Casual Nurse becomes a Regular Full-Time or Regular Part-Time Nurse, on or after February 26, 2004, her or his Casual Seniority earned from February 26, 2004, shall be converted to Regular Seniority on the basis of one (1) year of Seniority for each 1950 hours of Casual Seniority, pro-rated as required. She/he shall then accumulate further Regular Seniority from the length of her or his employment as a Regular Part-Time or Regular Full-Time Nurse. For clarification, Casual Nurses cannot convert more than 1950 hours of Casual Seniority for each year of employment from February 26, 2004 regardless of the number of Casual Hours worked in any one (1) year from February 26, 2004.
Conversion of Casual Seniority to Regular Seniority. If a Casual Employee becomes a Permanent Full-Time or Permanent Part Time employee, the employee’s casual seniority shall be converted to regular seniority on the basis of one (1) year of seniority for each 1950 hours of casual seniority, pro-rated as required. The employee will then accumulate further Regular Seniority from the length of their employment as a permanent Full Time or Part Time employee. In the event that a casual employee becomes a permanent employee and the conversion of hours results in the same seniority date as a current permanent employee, the casual employee who has converted their hours will be placed on the Seniority list below the other pre-established permanent employee with the same Seniority date.
