Correction after Substantial Completion Clause Samples

The 'Correction after Substantial Completion' clause requires the contractor to address and fix any defects or incomplete work identified after the project has reached substantial completion. Typically, this clause obligates the contractor to return and correct issues discovered during a specified warranty period, such as repairing faulty installations or replacing materials that fail to meet contract standards. Its core function is to ensure the quality and integrity of the finished project by holding the contractor accountable for latent defects, thereby protecting the owner's interests after occupancy or use has begun.
Correction after Substantial Completion. If, within one year after the date of Substantial Completion of the Work, any of the Work is found to be not in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall correct it promptly after receipt of written notice from the Agency to do so. The Contractor’s obligation set forth in this Section 4.9.3 is in addition to the Contractor’s obligations under Section 4.11.
