Correction of Work After Final Payment. 9.1 Neither the final Certificate nor payment nor any provision in the Contract Documents shall relieve the contractor of responsibility for faulty materials or workmanship and, unless otherwise specified, he shall remedy any defects due thereto and pay for any damage to other work resulting therefrom, which shall appear within a period of one year from the date of substantial completion. 9.2 The Owner shall give notice of observed defects with reasonable promptness. All questions arising under this article shall be decided by the DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS subject to mediation.

Where guarantees or warranties are written in any section of the Specifications for terms longer than two years, the longer term shall apply. c.
