Common use of COVID-19 Testing Clause in Contracts

COVID-19 Testing. a. The employer will continue to provide symptomatic and surveillance COVID-19 testing during the Spring 2021 Semester. NIU has partnered with the SHIELD Illinois testing program developed by the University of Illinois, which will allow for more students, faculty, and staff to be tested, for testing to occur more frequently and for faster reporting of results. As practicable, the Employer will test students living on campus every two weeks throughout the semester, and those students will be required to complete a gateway test prior to move-in in January. The Employer will test students and faculty participating in classes held entirely in person on a rotating basis every four weeks, as practicable. b. All test results shall be available as quickly as practicable. Both parties acknowledge that COVID -19 testing is being conducted by a third party. NIU shall not be responsible for delays in testing results due to the fault of the testing provider. c. Employees and students who have tested positive for COVID-19 shall not to return to face to face classroom instruction until receiving authorization and guidance from a health provider or a Public Health Department. d. The employer shall provide daily updates during days of normal university operations of positive COVID-19 cases within the student, faculty, and staff via the Campus COVID- 19
