Creditable Service Clause Samples
The Creditable Service clause defines what periods of employment or service count toward an employee’s total service time for purposes such as retirement benefits, vesting, or eligibility for certain employment rights. Typically, this clause outlines which types of service—such as full-time, part-time, military leave, or prior service with related employers—are included or excluded when calculating an employee’s total creditable service. By clearly specifying what service is recognized, the clause ensures fairness and consistency in benefit calculations and helps prevent disputes over eligibility or benefit amounts.
