Criteria for Use. When utilizing the authority granted under the FAR Part 51 deviation, all of the following criteria need to be met. 2.1 Primary Orders Are Issued on a Time-and-Materials (T&M)/Labor- Hour (LH)

The funds may also be utilized for reimbursement to a nurse for the cost of a certification or re-certification examination upon the nurse’s successful completion of the examination. The PNCC shall determine compliance with these fund criteria. The Medical Center may require nurses to make oral and/or written presentations regarding their educational experience to other Medical Center staff.
Criteria for Use. Programs for which educational leave is available 12 shall be related to the practice of nursing within the Hospital. Such education 13 leave shall be available for programs sponsored by other hospitals, educational 14 institutions, governmental agencies or professional associations, as well as 15 Hospital-sponsored educational programs and seminars requested by the nurse.
Criteria for Use. Educational days and funds must be used for 8 bona fide education related to the nurse’s current position or likely nursing 9 opportunities within the Agency, which will benefit both the Agency and the 10 nurse. Educational offerings for basic core competencies required for the nurse’s 11 current position shall be excluded. The days and funds utilized for 12 non-mandatory in-house educational offerings shall be limited to formalized 13 public class or workshop offerings typically associated with CEU credits or 14 nursing practice enhancement, unless otherwise approved by the Professional 15 Nursing Care Committee. The funds may also be utilized for reimbursement to a 16 nurse for the cost of a certification or re-certification examination upon the 17 nurse’s successful completion of the examination. Criteria for Use. Educational time off must be used for bona fide education related 3 to the nurse’s current position or likely nursing opportunities within the Medical 4 Center, which will benefit both the Medical Center and the nurse, and may include 5 testing fees and time spent in non-mandatory certifications or maintenance of non- 6 mandatory certification. Testing fees shall be reimbursed to the nurse upon delivery 7 of passing certificate copy to the Medical Center. Funds may be put towards 8 educational materials such as books, magazine subscriptions, online courses, etc.

Criteria for Use. Educational leave will be provided for education that provides a mutualdirectly related to the members job description and which will benefit to the nurse and to the Hospital, as well as directly relates to the nurse’s job description, and the nurse to include: 1. In person, virtual or at-home Sseminars, classes, and conferences attended by a nurse in person where Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are offered. and/or home learning experiences for CEUs including but not limited to online CEU offerings. 2. Education funds may be used to pay for additional costs for mandatory education classes (e.g., BLS or ACLS), if a nurse chooses an alternate learning experience than that which the Hospital provides. 3. Education-related expenses for non-required certification and up to sixteen (16) hours of preparatory study for professional certification. 4. Reimbursement of tuition expenses related to coursework to complete a BSN or MSN. 5. Should the Hospital request a presentation be made for the benefit of other employees, the nurse shall have the option to make a written or oral presentation regarding their educational experience. Preparatory time for a required presentation shall be granted at a rate of two (2) hours preparatory time for one
