Day of Work Clause Samples

The "Day of Work" clause defines what constitutes a standard working day for the purposes of the agreement. It typically specifies the number of hours, the start and end times, and may address whether weekends or public holidays are included or excluded. For example, it might state that a day of work is eight hours, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. This clause ensures both parties have a clear, mutual understanding of work expectations, helping to prevent disputes over working hours and compensation.
Day of Work. A day of work shall mean the hours in a day scheduled and/or assigned to an employee with a minimum credit of seven (7) hours, excluding the first meal period and any time worked as call-back (Article 16.10), all calculated to the end of the last quarter (¼) hour in which work was performed. 16.2.1 An employee's day of work shall not commence later than 1700 hours of the day prior to the their scheduled days off as referred to in clause 16.1.1. 16.2.2 Any day of work that is broken through authorized absence with pay (e.g. short-term disability, annual, special leave or any other absence with pay) will not reduce the minimum day of work credit of seven (7) hours. 16.2.3 Absence without pay will reduce the day of work by one (1) hour for each hour of absence and overtime will only be paid for those hours actually worked in excess of seven (7) hours. Deductions from basic salary for absence without pay will only occur when the actual hours worked in a day of work are less than seven (7) hours. Not more than seven (7) hours can be deducted from basic salary for each day of such absence.
Day of Work. In the event more than one employee has the same first day of work, placement on the seniority list shall be determined by length of prior service as a substitute employee. Said service shall not count toward actual seniority.
Day of Work designates a day other than the weekly rest days in the Company, or other than bank holidays in the country of this Company. Days of Work are indicated in the technical annex.
