DBS/CDR/Health Check Procedure Clause Samples

The DBS/CDR/Health Check Procedure clause outlines the requirements and processes for conducting background checks, criminal disclosure reviews (CDR), and health assessments on individuals involved in a contract or project. Typically, this clause specifies which parties must undergo these checks, the frequency or timing of the assessments, and the standards or authorities responsible for carrying them out. For example, it may require all personnel working on-site to have up-to-date DBS certificates and pass periodic health screenings. The core function of this clause is to ensure that all individuals meet necessary legal, safety, and suitability standards, thereby mitigating risks related to security, compliance, and workplace safety.

All student teachers are required to undergo an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check through The University of Chichester and hence be ‘cleared’ by the university to be in school. In instances where the university is required to make a decision in relation to a student teacher’s DBS status this decision is made in consultation with a Headteacher of a partnership school. Confirmation that the DBS check has been carried out by The University of Chichester and resulted in a satisfactory outcome in relation to the enhanced DBS check will be sent to schools, enclosed within the school experience letter. Student teachers will be asked to carry photo ID when first visiting a school. The following extract is from Keeping Children Safe in Education (2019)
