Definition of Regular Straight Time Rate of Pay. For the purposes of calculating any benefit or money pay- ment under this Agreement to which an employee is entitled, the regular straight time' rate of pay is that prescribed in Wage Schedule of this Agreement. Definition of Overtime (Overtime Premium) Authorized time worked- in excess of the normal daily hours or normal hours of the Hospital shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times the basic hourly straight time rate of pay, provided no overtime premium will be paid for overtime on an exchange of shifts mutually agreed to between two employees where approved by the Hospital. It is understood and acknowledged that the Hospital has the right to require employees to perform reasonably authorized overtime work. Notice of overtime will be given where possible. Call-back shall not be considered as hours worked for the purpose of this Article. Overtime premium will not be duplicated nor pyramided, nor shall other premiums be .duplicated nor pyramided, nor shall the same hours worked be counted as part of the normal work week and also as hours for which the overtime premium is paid. Authorized leave of absence for Union business and statu- tory holidays shall be considered as time worked for the purpose of computing overtime pay under section Full-time employees who report for any scheduled shift will be at least four hours of work, or, if no work is be paid at least four hours except when work is not available, due to conditions beyond the control of the hospital. The reporting allowance outlined as herein shall not apply whenever an employee has received not less than one prior notice not to report for work. An employee who is required to remain available for duty on standby, outside the normal working hours for that particular employee, shall receive standby pay in the amount of per hour for all hours on standby. Standby pay shall, however, cease where an employee is called work, and works period of standby. (a) Where employees are called back to work after having completed a regular shift and prior to the commence- ment of their next regular shift, they shall receive a minimum of three hours of work or three pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular hourly earnings. Where call back is immediately prior to the of their regular shift the call back pay will only apply to the point of commencement a regular shift at the rate of time and one-half after which they shall revert back to the regular shift. Call back pay shall cover all calls within the minimum three hour period provided for under (a). Notwithstanding the foregoing, an employee who has worked his full shift on a holiday and is called back shall receive the greater of times his regular straight time hourly rate for all hours actually worked on such call-back or three hours' pay at time and one-half his straight time hourly rate, sub- ject to the other provisions set out above. Employees shall be paid retroactive to October a shift premium of forty-five cents (45 cents) per hour for all hours worked where the majority of their scheduled hours fall between and hours. Where an Employer temporarily assigns an employee to carry out the assigned responsibilities of a higher paying classifica- tion outside the bargaining unit for a period in excess of one- half of one shift, the employee shall receive an allowance of three dollars for each shift from the time of the assignment.
