Description of Tables Sample Clauses

The "Description of Tables" clause defines how tables referenced in the agreement are to be interpreted and understood. It typically clarifies that any tables included in the contract, such as pricing schedules, deliverables lists, or timelines, are considered an integral part of the agreement and are binding on the parties. This clause may also specify how to resolve discrepancies between the tables and the main text. Its core function is to ensure that all tabular information is clearly incorporated and enforceable, preventing misunderstandings or disputes over the content and status of tables within the contract.
Description of Tables. The attached tables show the actual first monthly payment for each $1,000 applied to variable annuity payments. Under the First, Second and Third Options, the amount of each payment will depend upon the age and gender of the Annuitant at the time the first payment is due. Under the Fourth and Fifth Options, the amount of the first payment will depend upon the gender of both Annuitants and their ages at the time the first payment is due. Gender will not be used to determine the amount of the annuity payable if this contract is issued to qualify under certain sections of the Internal Revenue Code. If gender is used to determine the amount of annuity payable, the annuity tables at the end of this contract will provide rates of payment for male Annuitants and female Annuitants. Description of Tables. The Tables contained herein show the dollar value of accumulation units required to purchase a first monthly payment of $1.00, and the accumulation units applied to effect an annuity for an Annuitant will be at the accumulation unit value on the tenth day immediately preceding the date annuity payments commence. Amounts shown in the Tables are based on the Progressive Annuity Table with interest at the rate of 3 1/2% per annum and assume births in the year 1900. The amount of each payment will depend upon the sex of the Annuitant and the Annuitant's adjusted age at the time the first payment is due, where adjusted age shall be determined in accordance with the following: Calendar Year of Birth Before 1901 1901-1915 1916 -1935 1936-1955 1956-1975 Adjusted Age is Actual Age plus 1 minus 0 minus 1 minus 2 minus 3 Actual Age, as used above, shall mean nearest birthday at the time the first payment is due. If it would produce greater benefits, VALIC agrees that the first monthly payment to an Annuitant will be determined on the same mortality and interest basis used in determining rates for immediate annuities then being issued for this class of Annuitant. Description of Tables. The Tables contained herein show the amount of the first monthly payment under Options 3, 4 and 5 that can be provided by a number of accumulation units having a value of $1,000 after deduction of any premium taxes payable. The dollar value of the accumulation units applied will be calculated on the basis of the accumulation unit value as of the last day of the tenth Valuation Period preceding the Annuity Commencement Date and such value will be reduced by any premium taxes payable before application to effect a Retirement Annuity. The amount of each monthly payment will depend upon the sex and age of the person with respect to whom the Retirement Annuity is effected at the Annuity Commencement Date. Age, as used above, shall mean age nearest birthday at the Annuity Commencement Date. The tables are based on The Annuity Table for 1949 for males, set back one year for males and six years for females, and a net investment rate of 3.5% per annum for the General Account and Separate Account (FV columns of rates) and 5% per annum for the Separate Account (V columns of rates). The Owner may elect prior to the Annuity Commencement Date that variable annuity payments be based on an assumed net investment rate of 3.5% per annum or 5% per annum. In the absence of such election, the net investment rate of 3.5% per annum will be used.
