A Design Brief clause defines the scope, objectives, and requirements for a design project within a contract. It typically outlines the client's expectations, key deliverables, timelines, and any specific constraints or standards that must be adhered to during the design process. By clearly documenting these elements, the clause ensures that both parties have a mutual understanding of the project's direction and helps prevent misunderstandings or disputes regarding the project's intended outcomes.
Design Brief. The Client will give to the Exhibition Designer his Outline Brief Appendix 3 for the Exhibition and the Exhibition Designer will submit to the Client the Exhibition Designer's detailed comments on it. Once the Programme and Cost Plan have been agreed in accordance with Clause 2, the Client and the Exhibition Designer shall agree the Design Brief which shall then be the Design Brief for the Exhibition. The Exhibition Designer shall perform the Services in respect of the Exhibition having due regard to the provisions of the Design Brief but not so as to exclude the exercise of independent judgement on the part of the Exhibition Designer. The Exhibition Designer shall agree in advance with the Client any departure from the Design Brief. Nothing contained in the Design Brief shall relieve the Exhibition Designer from any of his obligations to the Client under this Agreement.
Design Brief are as aesthetically and functionally proximate to the ‘design brief’ (which may take the form of artwork, models or other materials - if any) supplied by Dillon Bass or its authorised agents as is reasonably practicable, accounting for the requirements above regarding quality & legal compliance, compatibility and commercial production.

Design Brief. 2.1 The Client will provide the Design Brief to the Architectural Designer and the Architectural Designer will assist the Client in developing the Design Brief as requested.
2.2 Where a Budget has been specified in this Agreement, the Architectural Designer will use reasonable endeavours to develop the Design up to the Concept Design stage within the Budget but does not warrant that the Project will be able to be constructed within the Budget. The parties may agree on modifications to the Budget at any time during the carrying out of the Services.
