DOCK LINES Sample Clauses

The "Dock Lines" clause defines the responsibilities regarding the provision, maintenance, and use of ropes or lines used to secure a vessel to a dock. Typically, this clause specifies whether the vessel owner or the marina is responsible for supplying adequate dock lines and ensuring they are in good condition throughout the vessel's stay. For example, it may require the vessel owner to provide lines that meet certain strength or safety standards, or it may obligate the marina to inspect and approve the lines used. The core function of this clause is to ensure the safe and secure mooring of vessels, thereby preventing damage to both the vessel and the dock, and clarifying liability in case of incidents related to improper mooring.
