Duty Assignments. Teachers may be assigned duties before and/or after the regular class schedule as determined by the building principal or designee. In making such assignments, the needs of the school district and of the affected teachers shall be considered. It is the responsibility of the teacher to participate in meetings with parents, staff, and/or students regarding individual student concerns (i.e., IEPs, Assist Teams, etc.) during this duty time. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible. When other assignments are not in effect, such time may be utilized as preparation time.

Duty Assignments. The board shall establish an equitable basis for implementing duty assignments. Duty assignments shall be assigned on a rotating schedule. Each teacher will have at least one quarter of the school year with no duty assignments. The duty assignment schedule shall be established as early as possible but no later than August 10. The association president or association designee shall review the duty assignment schedule, and the results of the review shall be relayed to the Director no later than August 15. Scheduling shall be the responsibility of the Administration. However, any inequities in the schedule shall be revised by the administration and resubmitted to the association executive committee and/or designee no later than one week prior to the fall semester. Every effort will be made to keep duty to a minimum.

Duty Assignments. 1. The parties agree that all staff members share responsibility for creating and maintaining an orderly and efficient school atmosphere. To that end, teachers may be required to handle bus duty and elementary school lunch-time playground supervision. 2. Full-time high school teachers assigned to teach fewer than twenty-five

Duty Assignments. When a teacher is assigned a duty as a part of the regular assignment, the salary shall be at the regular teacher's rate.

Duty Assignments. Employees may also be assigned up to forty (40) minutes of duties per week only during Team Planning and Preparation Time. Duty assignments will be made by the school administration as equitably as possible.

No teaching schedule shall include, and no teacher shall be required to perform, study hall duty for more than one semester during the school year (except in such circumstances in which the relief from duty of the additional five (5) Congress officials make it necessary to repeat duty assignments). b. Teachers shall not have bus duty. c. All homeroom periods at the secondary level shall be limited to ten minutes and shall not be extended except in emergency situations. Homeroom shall not be considered a duty. d. Secondary school and middle school teachers shall be relieved of lunch duty under the following conditions: i. Volunteers shall be solicited for lunch duty. ii. The building principal shall have the sole right to select from the volunteers. iii. Volunteers selected shall be paid as provided for in Article IIIC and Appendix H provided they render satisfactory service. iv. The building principal shall also have the right in his/her sole discretion to assign teachers to lunch duty if a competent staff cannot be selected from among the volunteers. v. In the event there are no volunteers, the principal shall assign without compensation. vi. The Rotation of Duties clause shall be waived if it becomes necessary, in order to reasonably implement provision of this section. Said program shall be totally funded by adjustment to the teacher salary schedule. e. Secondary school teachers assigned to three (3) or more preparations shall be relieved of hall duty pursuant to the following schedule as determined on the basis of seniority: i. 2008-2009 - ⅓ of staff 2009-2010 - ⅔ of staff 2010-2011 – remaining staff will serve on rotating basis ii. In the event of a security emergency/crisis, both parties will agree to suspend this provision for a mutually agreed upon period of time. f. Effective July 1, 1999 all secondary school teachers shall be present at the doorway to their rooms during passing times to assist in monitoring the halls. This obligation shall be subject to teachers needs to change rooms during passing time. g. Effective July 1, 1999, attendance duty shall be eliminated.

Duty Assignments. 1. Secondary teachers shall be in the immediate vicinity of the area where they are conducting their next class during the passing of classes. 2. Teachers with preparation periods the first or last hour may be assigned areas to supervise by the building principals. Those teachers assigned will be in the duty areas at least five (5) minutes before or after class depending upon the time of their preparation period. Middle School teachers may be assigned to help supervise the breakfast program for 5 minutes of their preparation period

Duty Assignments. All teacher duty assignments (i.e. lunchroom, playground, etc.) will be assigned to teachers and aids when they are available. Duty assignments to teachers shall be distributed equally among all teachers in the building. If a teacher is absent, the duty normally assigned to that teacher shall be the responsibility of the substitute teacher or if no substitute is available it shall be assigned to teachers in the building on an alternating basis. The Board recognizes the desirability of equalizing duty assignments across the District.
