Common use of Emergency Closure Clause in Contracts

Emergency Closure. 18.1 Employees shall not be required to report to work, except as provided in Section 18.2, and shall not be charged leave time/vacation when student attendance is not required due to inclement weather. This includes previously scheduled leave time. If the Board requires students and/or staff to make up days lost due to inclement weather, then all employees shall be required to fulfill their regular duties on those days without additional compensation. 18.2 When student attendance is not required either for the entire workday or due to a late start or early release due to emergency closure of the District and some employees of the bargaining unit are required to work while other employees are not required to work due to the District closure to students, those required to work shall be paid additional pay for the time actually worked at their standard hourly rate or receive comparable time off with pay at the District’s discretion.
