Common use of Emergency Closure Clause in Contracts

Emergency Closure. Essential employees who do not report to work during the emergency closure shall use vacation or comp, unless the employee is sick for the entire shift, then they shall be granted use of sick time. Non-essential employees who call in due to inclement weather prior to the University closing shall not be required to use their own time for the time period that the University is closed. This applies only to when the University closes within a two-hour window from the start of their shift. Third shift employees who are non-essential will not be required to come in for the duration of their shift, if the University is closed due to inclement weather, at their start time.
