Emergency List. School Bus Drivers who do not sign and indicate when they are available will not be considered for an emergency field trip. These field trip hours will not be accrued and will not affect the hourly equalization list. a. On the first day of each month the emergency signs up list will be posted for the School Bus Driver to indicate their daily availability. The list will be deemed closed the last working day of the month. b. On the first day of the following month this list will become a working document to be used by the dispatcher to make emergency field trip assignments. c. Once the list is deemed closed, a School Bus Driver may not be added to the list. A School Bus Driver may remove themselves from the list with 48 hours advance notice prior to their scheduled trip date. d. School Bus Drivers will be assigned these trips by seniority. Such offers shall be made on a rotational basis in such a manner as to distribute assignments as equitably as practicable. Field trips will be assigned in descending field trip numerical order, using the date in which the site “entered” the field trip. Any exceptions will be notated. e. A School Bus Driver who has declared their availability and then turns down an assigned trip will be skipped on the next seniority rotation unless an emergency occurs involving serious illness or death of immediate family member, as defined in Article 10.1, accident of person or property of the employee or immediate family member, appearance in court or such other reason as approved by the District.
Emergency List. One (1) Emergency List shall be utilized per school year to rotate throughout the year. Dispatch shall notify the next one (1) to two (2) Drivers each Friday to be "on-call" for any last- minute work for the upcoming weekend (Saturday and Sunday awarded separately). If a Driver states they are not available, Dispatch shall notify the next Driver on the Emergency List. Each subsequent weekend, Dispatch shall notify the next one (1) or two (2) Drivers regardless of the outcome of the prior weekend. Available hours shall not be factor in assigning. The Driver who has confirmed availability must accept an assignment if called to work. The Driver will receive two (2) hours of pay per day for being on call and, if actually called to work, will also receive pay for all hours worked over the two (2) hours. (EXAMPLE: Driver on call who is not called in for any work = 2 hours pay; driver on call who is called in for 1 hour of work = 2 hours pay; driver on call who is called in for 4 hours of work = 4 hours pay).
