The Equipment Operator clause defines the responsibilities and qualifications required of individuals who operate machinery or equipment under a contract. It typically specifies that only trained and authorized personnel may use certain equipment, and may outline necessary certifications, safety protocols, or supervision requirements. This clause ensures that equipment is operated safely and competently, reducing the risk of accidents, damage, or liability for both parties.
Equipment Operator. Will operate bulldozers, swamp buggies, tractor and trailer digging machines, cranes, side boom tractors, direct burial machines, any winch other than that normally mounted on a line truck. He will be responsible for the safe operation and normal maintenance of his equipment.
(a) It is understood under this section that the driver groundmen will drive and operate the following: Line Truck and Power Wagon and bumper winch thereon and that piece of equipment known as a wire puller.
Equipment Operator. This classification to apply to an employee operating a tractor of thirty horsepower or over. Employees working the majority of their time as equipment operators shall receive statutory holiday and sick leave payments at the equipment operator rate.
Equipment Operator. An employee who is engaged in the operation and routine maintenance of equipment, particularly mobile power equipment associated with the construction, maintenance and repair of streets, parks, pipelines, and other facilities. The employee may be required to direct the work of up to two (2) other lower paid employees. The employee’s background of training and experience shall be such as to qualify the employee to perform the duties safely with skill and efficiency.
Equipment Operator. An employee qualified on the basis of performance to operate any of the trucks, diggers, bucket trucks and other heavy equipment owned by the Employer. Performs such other bargaining unit work and activities as required or assigned.
Equipment Operator the first year apprentice will understand the starting, pressure, setting, voltage regulating, material release, and shut down of the most frequently used equipment of the contractors.
Equipment Operator. An equipment operator will preferably be a journeyman lineman. The equipment operator will operate line trucks; mechanical earth augers, crawler-type equipment, and such other specialized mechanical equipment as may be used by the Employer in line construction and maintenance.
Equipment Operator. An employee who has equivalent experience and is qualified by training and experience to perform construction work using excavation equipment such as loaders, and combination back-hoe/loaders with rated capacities of one and one-half (1 ½) cubic yards for loader buckets and one half (½) cubic yard for back-hoe buckets, boom trucks, forklifts, etc. (type of equipment may vary by department). Must have sufficient knowledge and adaptability to understand and carry on duties as assigned; must be semi-skilled laborer, or equivalent with past experience as such, capable of handling ordinary tools safely in accordance with Company safety rules. Assist skilled ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or apprentice or work under their direction at various classes of work. Employee must maintain a valid license and will be required to obtain a CDL Class A license within ninety (90) days. Note: It is intended this classification be used only in the areas where Company may not need the full-time services of certain Bargaining Unit classifications, and to perform various other semi-skilled duties.
Equipment Operator. Operates equipment such as forklift, small saws, small boring machines, pin routers, single-sided dowel inserters, and concealed hinge boring machines; reads and interprets work documents appropriate to the area; lifts, carries, and stacks components; performs routine maintenance and cleaning.
Equipment Operator. An employee who is qualified to operate a backhoe, track excavator, front-end loader, a bulldozer, a rock truck, a zoom boom, a elevated work platform (ie: skyjack), articulating boom, roller contractor and a small crane.
Equipment Operator. An Equipment Operator shall have the same qualifications as a Labourer and in addition shall possess a Class A or Class D Province of Ontario driver’s license with a Z endorsement. They shall be capable of operating in a safe and efficient manner and servicing a truck, tractor mower, tractor, loader, backhoe, roller, grader, paint striper and other small equipment. In addition, performs other duties as assigned to him by his supervisor.
