EXEMPT AND NONEXEMPT EMPLOYEES Sample Clauses

The "Exempt and Nonexempt Employees" clause defines how employees are classified under wage and hour laws, particularly regarding eligibility for overtime pay. In practice, this clause distinguishes between employees who are exempt from overtime requirements—such as certain managers or professionals—and those who are nonexempt and therefore entitled to overtime compensation for hours worked beyond a standard workweek. By clearly outlining these classifications, the clause ensures compliance with labor regulations and helps both employers and employees understand their rights and obligations regarding pay and working hours.
