Existing Water Supply Infrastructure. The Project area is served by Kiambu Water and Sewerage Company (KIWASCO) which was established as a private company under the Companies Act, Cap 486 and is wholly owned by the Kiambu County Government. The Company’s designated area of supply is Kiambu Sub County, covering an area of approximately 59km 2. The company currently supplies approximately 30% of its mandated area i.e. 17km2. The main source of water for Kiambu town is a Ground Water System comprising of 11 Nr. Boreholes with a total production capacity of approximately 3,060m3/day. In addition, the area receives 230 m3/d bulk water supplies from the Ngethu Pipeline serving Nairobi. Athi Water Services Board through the support of World Bank under the Water and Sanitation Services Improvement Project Additional Financing (WASSIP-AF) is construction Riara Water Supply and Kamiti Water Supply, also the Board through the support of French government is planning to construct Ruiru II Dam that will supply Kiambu town and Karuri towns with approximately 40,000m3/day of water as illustrated in Box 2 below  Riara Water Supply Project – 4000m3/day  Kamiti Water Supply - 4000m3/day  Ruiru II Dam – 40,000m/day The current water supply system for Kiambu includes community operated water supply schemes, boreholes and the company water supply schemes as illustrated in Box 3 below  The main source of water for Kiambu town is a Ground Water System comprising of 11 Nr. Boreholes with a total production capacity of approximately 3,060m3/day.  In addition, the town receives 230 m3/d bulk water supplies from the Ngethu Pipeline serving Nairobi. Treatment of Water is carried out for only one borehole known as the Thuku Borehole. Water from all other boreholes is distributed to consumers without any treatment. The Treatment Plant for the Thuku Borehole water is a full conventional Treatment Plant of capacity 1,800m3/d. It comprises of a Cascade Aerator, 2 Nr Horizontal Flow Sedimentation Tanks, 3 Nr Rapid Gravity Sand Filters, Chlorination Facilities, Pump House with 2 Nr Pumps, Elevated Backwash Tank (40m3 capacity), Office Building and 4 Nr. Grade 9 Staff Houses. The Distribution System covers approximately 17km2 and comprises of GI and uPVC pipes diameter ranging in size from 25mm to 110mm. Total Length of the Distribution Mains is approximately 27km
Existing Water Supply Infrastructure. The Project area is served by Kikuyu Water and Sanitation Company (KIWASCO) which was established as a private company under the Companies Act, Cap 486 and is wholly owned by the Kiambu County Government. The water company’s designated area of supply is 118.8km² but currently supplies water to only 30% of this area. The present population under the mandate of the company is estimated at 143,930 persons, but only a total of 23,518 persons are currently supplied with water (16.3%). The Locations within the Company’s area of jurisdiction are illustrated in Box 2 below  Muguga  Gitaru  Thogoto  Gitiba  Gikambura  Karai  Kiambaa  Wangige The current water supply system for Kikuyu includes community operated water supply schemes, boreholes and the company water supply schemes as illustrated in Box 3 below  Within the Kikuyu Water Company’s area of jurisdiction, there exists 36 small Self- Help Water Schemes, which fall under the relevant Sub County Water Officers.  The source of water is ground water comprising of 12nr. Boreholes. The yield of the Boreholes ranges between 3.2 m3/hr to 35 m3/hr with a total production of 4,202 m3/day Water is only subjected to disinfection by chlorination at the storage tanks. The Distribution System covers 30% of the area of supply and comprises of GMS / uPVC pipes diameter ranging in size from 25mm to 150mm. The first Distribution System was developed in the 1950s, however, over the years the system has been expanded. The Storage comprises of 14nr. storage tanks capacity ranging in size from 48m³ to 225m³.
Existing Water Supply Infrastructure. The Project area is served by Limuru Water and Sewerage Company established as a private company under the Companies Act, Cap 486 wholly owned by the Kiambu County and was incorporated on 13th March 2006. The Water Company’s designated area of supply is 555km². The company currently supplies water to only 40% of the area. The present population under the mandate of the Company is estimated at 119,201 persons, but only a total of 40,230 persons about 34% of the total population, are currently supplied with water. The Locations within the Company’s area of jurisdiction are as presented in Box 2 below  Limuru  Karambaini  Ngecha  Rironi  Kamae  Kinale  Kijabe  Gitithia  Lari  Kirenga  Gatamiyu  Nyanduma The supply system for Limuru includes community operated water supply schemes, boreholes and the company water supply schemes as illustrated in Box 3 below  17 small Self Help Water Schemes, which falls under the relevant District Water Officers.  Bathi Water Supply Scheme of capacity 20,000m3/day, which serves the main trading Centres of Magina, Kimende, Lari and Uplands.  Limuru Water Supply Scheme for the Town of Limuru.  Kijabe Springs which serves part of Kijabe Location

  • Water Supply The system may or may not meet state and local requirements. It is the right and responsibility of Buyer to determine the compliance of the system with state and local requirements. [For additional information on this subject, request the “Water Supply and Waste Disposal Notification” form.]

  • Infrastructure Modification of the location and/or sizing of the infrastructure for the Project that does not materially change the functionality of the infrastructure.

  • Interconnection Facilities Engineering Procurement and Construction Interconnection Facilities, Network Upgrades, and Distribution Upgrades shall be studied, designed, and constructed pursuant to Good Utility Practice. Such studies, design and construction shall be based on the assumed accuracy and completeness of all technical information received by the Participating TO and the CAISO from the Interconnection Customer associated with interconnecting the Large Generating Facility.

  • Information Systems Acquisition Development and Maintenance a. Client Data – Client Data will only be used by State Street for the purposes specified in this Agreement.

  • Critical Infrastructure Subcontracts For purposes of this Paragraph, the designated countries are China, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and any countries lawfully designated by the Governor as a threat to critical infrastructure. Pursuant to Section 113.002 of the Business and Commerce Code, Contractor shall not enter into a subcontract that will provide direct or remote access to or control of critical infrastructure, as defined by Section 113.001 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, in this state, other than access specifically allowed for product warranty and support purposes to any subcontractor unless (i) neither the subcontractor nor its parent company, nor any affiliate of the subcontractor or its parent company, is majority owned or controlled by citizens or governmental entities of a designated country; and (ii) neither the subcontractor nor its parent company, nor any affiliate of the subcontractor or its parent company, is headquartered in a designated country. Contractor will notify the System Agency before entering into any subcontract that will provide direct or remote access to or control of critical infrastructure, as defined by Section 113.001 of the Texas Business & Commerce Code, in this state.
