Extended Tour. Vote
1. Eighty per cent (80%) of the full-time and regular part-time staff who vote must indicate by secret ballot their willingness to participate prior to the commencement of the extended tour schedule. In order to facilitate the voting process, the manager of the unit planning to implement an extended tour schedule will notify the Union that such a vote needs to occur. The Manager of the unit must approve the proposed extended tour schedule.
2. The Employer shall make space available to the Union in order to permit them to conduct a vote to ensure that the unit staff have had an opportunity to indicate their preference for normal tours or extended tours. Approval for implementation for a combination of extended tours and normal tours shall not be unreasonably denied.
Extended Tour. All extended tour of duty provisions of the contract would commence at the completion of the 12-hour shift.
Extended Tour. All extended tours of duty provisions of the Collective Agreement would commence at the completion of the ten (10) hour shift, in accordance with Article 6.9 of the Collective Agreement.
Extended Tour. This Article shall apply to nurses working the extended tours. The Extended Tour, as provided for in Article may be cancelled by either party on giving ten calendar weeks' notice to the other in writing of its desire to terminate. Hours of Work The normal daily tours under Article (a) for the Extended shall be six paid tours of hours exclusive of a forty-five minute unpaid period and one paid tour of hours exclusive of a thirty minute unpaid meal period. Nurses on the Extended Tour shall be entitled to forty-five minutes paid relief periods. A nurse on the Extended Tour shall not be scheduled to work more than three consecutive tours. If a nurse is required to work more than three consecutive tours without written consent she shall be paid premium pay as provided for in Article of the Full-time Collective Agreement for every consecutive tour worked after the third day. Effective the calendar year January Nurse Manager endeavour to schedule a nurse on the Extended Tour to work at least two Extended Tours and one short tour at either Christmas or New Year's. Should a nurse be required to work more than three consecutive Tours without written consent, she shall be paid premium pay as provided for in Article of the Full-time Collective Agreement for every consecutive tour worked after the third tour. The Hospital shall provide one weekend off in two and more frequently where possible. A nurse will receive premium pay as provided for in Article Collective Agreement for all hours worked on a second consecutive weekend save and except where: such weekend has been worked by the nurse to satisfy specific days offrequested by such nurse; or such nurse has requested weekend work; or such weekend is worked as the result of an exchange of shifts with another nurse.
Extended Tour percent (85%) of the nursing staff must indicate by secret ballot to participate prior to the commencement of the test. Nurses not favour of extended tours shall remain on the schedule based on the normal tour. It is understood that there will be a separate vote conducted for full-time and part-time nurses. The test period shall be for six (6) months after which full-time and part-time nurses will again indicate by an percent (85%) vote by secret ballot their desire to continue or discontinue Extended Tours. The following scheduling provisions shall apply to all nurses working extended tours as follows:

Extended Tour. At least every second weekend off for a minimum of four days off; nurses will not be required to work more than four consecutive twelve hour tours. The above scheduling not apply from December to January However a nurse will be scheduled off for at least two days if they have completed a block of more than two extended night tours during this period. The introduction of extended tours will be implemented at six month intervals where eighty percent of the nurses involved so request. Thereafter, discontinuance of extended tours will be implemented at subsequent six month intervals, where eighty percent of the nurses involved so request. Request for changes in posted time schedules must be submitted in writing and co-signed by a nurse willing to exchange days off or tours. A request book will be used on all units. A nurse will receive premium payment in accordance with Article for all hours worked on a third and subsequent consecutive weekend save and except where: Such weekend has been worked by the nurse to satisfy specific days off requested by such nurse; or

Extended Tour. (a) Introduction and discontinuation of a compressed work week (extended tour).
(1) A compressed work week shall be introduced into any unit when:
i) eighty percent (80%) of the employees in the unit so indicate by secret ballot; and
ii) the Hospital agrees to implement the compressed work week, such agreement shall not be withheld in an unreasonably arbitrary manner.
(2) A compressed work week may be discontinued in any unit when:
i) fifty percent (50%) of the employees in the unit so indicate by secret ballot; or
ii) the Hospital because of:
a. adverse effects on patient care,
b. inability to provide a workable staffing schedules, states its intention to discontinue the compressed work week in the schedule.
(3) When notice of discontinuation is given by either party in accordance with paragraph (2) above, then:
i) the parties shall meet within two (2) weeks of the giving of notice to review the request for discontinuation; and
ii) where it is determined that the compressed work week will be discontinued, affected employees shall be given sixty (60) days' notice before the schedules are so amended.
