Extension Services. USU shall provide and administer Extension Services within the County, which are directed at improving the quality of life for people in the County, enhancing economic opportunity within the County, and sustaining the natural resources of the County. Extension Services. For the association to be able to provide services, they have to build their practical skills so that they can help members with forest and natural resource management and income generation. Since they have to provide a wide range of services, from practical NRM skills, information about new technologies, land use planning, access to markets, climate change adaptation and mitigation, to knowing about relevant legislation, they have to form networks and partnerships with governments, development organizations, the private sector, other CSOs, private service providers, and universities. By having access to information and a wide network, the association can build its technical capacity for better NRM. DFE has been building the technical capacity of its partners so that they can work on improving the practical skills of the organized target groups for better NRM. In addition, DFE has been supporting the development of NRM curricula at universities that can train extension workers who can provide NRM services to association members.
Extension Services. (i) Provide extension services to fish farmers and private sector in aquaculture production enhancement and processing activities by: (a) strengthening the capacity of extension services; (b) establishing site-specific demonstration facilities; (c) introducing new aquaculture and processing technologies; and (d) providing production inputs assistance. (ii) Recruit community extension workers (CEW) to strengthen the capacity of the districts fisheries extension services and to provide training to fish farmers on the establishment and management of sustainable aquaculture enterprises.
