Extra Shift. A full-time or part-time nurse will be paid an extra shift differential of $13.00 per hour ($14.00 per hour on weekend shifts) for all hours worked per week in excess of the number of the nurse’s regularly scheduled hours (including regularly scheduled weekend hours) for the week when such excess hours result from the nurse’s working extra shift(s) of at least four (4) hours each in duration, when requested by the Medical Center within 72 hours of the shift. For the purposes of the preceding sentence, regularly scheduled hours actually worked, regularly scheduled hours not worked because of the application of MDO, and regularly scheduled hours not worked because the Medical Center has required attendance at a specific education program, will be counted as regularly scheduled hours worked for the week . Hours worked in determining eligibility for this extra shift differential will not include hours worked as a result of trades. 14.10.1 If a full-time or part-time nurse's FTE status is reduced at the nurse’s request, the extra shift differential will be payable to the nurse only for extra shifts worked in excess of 36 regularly compensated hours per week for the first 13 full pay periods following the nurse's FTE reduction or change in status. Extra Shift. (a) It is agreed that the Company shall have the privilege of operating three (3) shifts. One (1) shift is to be the established working day and to be paid as per Article 4 of this Agreement. The second (2nd) and third (3rd) shifts shall be of eight (8) hours' duration including a one‑half (1/2) hour meal period which will be paid. In addition to payment for work performed in accordance with Article 4 of this Agreement, employees and apprentices working on the second (2nd) or third shift shall receive a shift premium of One Dollar and Seventy-five Cents ($1.75) per hour. (b) The Company shall not require any employee to work alone unless a telephone is readily available on the premises and a beeper with an automatic safety call‑in every fifteen (15) minutes unless deactivated by the employee.
Extra Shift. Should the Employer require an afternoon or evening shift, the Union and the Employer shall meet to arrange provisions and rates of pay to govern any shift different than what is currently provided for.
Extra Shift. A .9 FTE employee that works on their regularly scheduled day(s) off at the request of the Medical Center, will receive time and one half for hours worked beyond their FTE. Extra shift will apply if the employee has worked all scheduled shifts/hours during the current week. Any scheduled time not worked will result in an equal premium pay reduction. Extra Shift. (a) If an employee is scheduled for an additional shift, the employee will be informed of whether they will be reassigned and, if they are to be reassigned, they may cancel their additional shift without penalty. The employee shall be informed at least two hours prior to the start of the shift.

Extra Shift. An “extra” shift is defined as any shift exceeding one’s designated number of shifts, except that an “extra” shift for a casual RN is defined as any shift beyond the third shift per schedule. Volunteering to work an “extra” shift obligates the Nurse to work only in the Nurse’s primary cluster(s). If the Nurse is not needed to work in his/her “home” cluster on an “extra” shift, then he/she will be notified prior to the start of the shift and will be given the option to be canceled or float to another unit if qualified, willing and needed in the other unit. Nurses volunteering for “extra” shifts may be required by the Hospital to House Float, as defined by the Hospital’s policies. RNs covered under this agreement will be offered extra shifts before registry and travelers. Extra shifts will be offered to Nurses by seniority in the following order: a. Regular Full Time and Part Time RN; b. Short Hour RN; c. Casual and Temporary RN; d. Part Time and Full Time Probationary RN; e. Short Hour Probationary RN; f. Traveler and Registry RN.
Extra Shift. No member placed on leave due to the conditions described in section #1 shall not be required to use their regular PTO for extra shifts (i.e., beyond their contracted FTE). However, they may use their PTO for COVID-19 and Other Infectious Disease Leave Bank for those extra shifts.
