Common use of Extra Shift Premium Clause in Contracts

Extra Shift Premium. When, at the request of the Department, an employee works a shift during a day where he or she is not scheduled to work, and the employee has taken paid leave during the same week, that employee shall be eligible to be paid a premium rate of time and a half for time worked on the extra shift even if that employee has not worked over 40 hours in the workweek.
