Common use of Fixed Term Appointment Clause in Contracts

Fixed Term Appointment. a. Relinquishing Three-year Extendable Appointment The faculty member is issued a fixed-term appointment at their current FTE for the remainder of his/her three-year appointment. At the faculty member’s request, the termination date for the fixed term appointment may be earlier than the termination date of the three-year appointment. b. Relinquishing Tenure The faculty member is issued a fixed-term appointment at their current FTE covering the period between the relinquishment of tenure and the date of termination. Said period may not exceed three years.
