Common use of Formal Level One Clause in Contracts

Formal Level One. Within 10 days of the occurrence or of first knowledge of the occurrence of the alleged violation of the Agreement, or within 10 days of the Informal Level meeting, the grievant shall present the grievance in writing to the immediate supervisor. 5.11.1 The written grievance shall contain the following minimum information: 1. The grievant's name. 2. The date of filing. 3. The date of the alleged violation. 4. The specific Article(s) or section(s) violated. 5. A brief description of the alleged violation. 6. A brief synopsis of the informal conference. 7. The specific relief requested. 5.11.2 Grievances not containing the required information shall be rejected as being improperly filed. 5.11.3 The grievant may request a conference with the immediate supervisor. The conference shall be held within 10 days of the request. 5.11.4 Within 10 days of receipt of the grievance by the supervisor or within 10 days of the conference, if one is requested, a written decision shall be issued to the grievant. 1. If the supervisor does not respond within the time limit, the grievance is denied and the grievant may appeal to the next level.
