From A Temporary Position. When an employee is assigned temporarily to a position, and then receives a promotion or re- evaluation to the same position or to a position which is sufficiently similar in nature, the employee's wage rate in the temporary position will be used to calculate the new wage. Otherwise the employee's last wage rate in his/her permanent position shall be utilized. The new wage rate shall not exceed the maximum rate of the new payband.

A temporary layoff will not affect an employee’s incremental movement, vacation and sick leave accrual rates, or seniority. C. A temporary layoff is leave without pay. An employee may not use any leave for a temporary layoff day(s).
