Granting of Leave. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board of Education may grant a leave of absence to a permanent classified employee when compelled to absent himself/herself from his/her duties due to a personal or family emergency that is considered by the Superintendent to be of such a nature to render the employee unable to perform his/her duties. Reasons for such a leave could include, but not be limited to, severe illness of a member of the family or close relative, need for the presence of the employee out of the area for purposes, head of household responsibilities, quarantine.
