Hours and Wages. 7.01 All employees shall be paid in accordance with the attached Schedule "A". Clauses 7:02, 7:03, 7:04 and 7:06 shall apply to administrative staff only. 7.02 The daily hours of work shall be staggered in order to provide office coverage from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on Fridays. Clerical staff shall be entitled to one (1) hour for lunch. The work week shall be thirty-six and half (36.5) hours per week, excluding the one (1) hour for lunch each day. Clerical staff shall be entitled to leave work one (1) hour early on Fridays. The office hour coverage will be discussed and worked out with the President and the clerical staff by mutual agreement in order to ensure office coverage. A clerical staff may have the option of having a one-half (½) hour lunch instead of one (1) hour lunch and thereby adjust her weekly hours accordingly. 7.03 All time worked in excess of these hours on a Saturday shall be compensated with time off in lieu accumulated at 1.5 hours per hour worked. All time worked on a Sunday or Statutory Holiday, shall be compensated with time off in lieu at two times the hours worked. All time worked in excess of the regular hours must be approved in advance by the Employer, whenever possible. 7.04 Any employee called to work on a Saturday, Sunday or Statutory Holiday shall be guaranteed four (4) hours pay at the prevailing overtime rate. 7.05 All employees shall be granted a fifteen (15) minute rest period during each half (½) day. 7.06 All employees shall have the right to refuse to go out of town to work at conventions, etc., or to perform any work which is not properly within the scope of the bargaining unit. Any employee doing such work shall have transportation provided and paid for by the Employer as well as hotel bills and any other necessary expenses in addition to his/her regular pay. 7.07 The parties recognize that there are not specific hours or days of work for the Union Organizers due to the nature of the organization. Employees are encouraged to take time away from work, where possible, to make up for excessive hours worked, keeping in mind their responsibility to the membership and the nature of the job. Lieu time shall be taken at a time mutually agreed and will not be unreasonably withheld subject to work requirements. When an employee works beyond a reasonable number of consecutive days, the employee and his/her Lead and/or Director may work out an appropriate number of days off at a reasonable time taking into account the needs of the employee’s assignment and the employee. These days off shall not be considered vacation days, personal days or sick days. The parties recognize that employees have commitments outside of their work (personal and family commitments) and to that end agree that in the event that COPE believes that excessive hours of work or excessive workloads are being required by UNITE HERE if may seek to address these issues through The Joint Organizer/Officer committee prior to pursuing a grievance. Workload disputes are not subject to the arbitration procedure.

(a) The regular workweek for full-time custodial workers, lead custodial workers, and head custodial workers shall be forty (40) hours (lunchtime excepted) to be worked in not more than five (5) days (or nights) in any week. The University guarantees regularly employed run-time custodial workers, lead custodial workers, and head custodial workers at least forty (40) hours of work a week at straight time so long as they are willing and able to work such hours. The scheduled workweek for regular part-time custodians shall be not less than seventeen and one- half (17.5) hours. Custodial employees shall be paid in accordance with the attached Schedule "A". If any custodial worker or head custodial worker is requested to work overtime, he/she shall be paid therefor and shall not be required to take compensatory time off off. The University will make known to the employee(s) expected to do overtime work the probability of its necessity as far in lieu accumulated at 1.5 advance as possible but not less than twenty-four (24) hours in advance, except in cases of unforeseen emergency. The opportunity to do overtime work shall be offered and, to the extent that employees volunteer, distributed equally on the basis of seniority among the employees within the work area affected. Employees may be required routinely to work up to twenty (20) hours per hour workedmonth. All time When employees have worked on a Sunday twenty (20) or Statutory Holiday, shall be compensated with time off in lieu at two times more hours within the hours worked. All time worked in excess of the regular hours month and additional overtime must be approved worked, if there is an insufficient number of volunteers, the University may assign the remaining overtime to the least senior employees in advance by that work area who are capable of performing the Employer, whenever possiblework. 7.04 Any (c) An employee called assigned to work on the sixth day of his/her workweek or on a Saturday, Sunday or Statutory Holiday holiday shall be guaranteed four (4) consecutive hours pay of work at the prevailing overtime rateapplicable premium rate for the date concerned. 7.05 All employees (d) The University agrees that no more than 40% of the regular custodial staff shall be granted a fifteen (15required to work the third shift involuntarily and that, in assigning employees to the third shift, volunteers shall be first assigned.
