HOURS OF WORK, RATES OF PAY. 10.1.1 The rates under this Agreement are shown in Attachment A. 10.1.2 The ordinary hours of work may be worked over a one, two or three week cycle with the minimum ordinary hours equal to 35 hours per week. 10.1.3 During the life of this Agreement the cycle of work may be altered to accommodate an improvement in the customer supply and efficiency in the fleet utilisation. Should the cycle of work be subject to change all effected employees will be consulted and provided with 7 days notice of any change. No penalty shall apply for any change in roster patterns. 10.1.4 Subject to the other provisions of this agreement, the ordinary hours of work on a one week cycle shall be worked on any day Monday to Friday. The days on which ordinary hours are worked may include Saturday and Sunday subject to agreement between the employer and the employees concerned. Agreement may also be reached between the employer and an individual employee. 10.1.5 Where the employees are paid at the hourly driving rate as identified in Attachment A to this Agreement the hourly driving rate is inclusive of all payments to be made to the employee including overtime and shift allowances. The base weekly rate will be used to calculate leave loading and superannuation payments made on behalf of the employee. A meal allowance equivalent to the Award will be paid where the employee works greater than 9 hours in any one day. 10.1.6 No employee shall work more than 60 hours per week Monday to Saturday. 10.1.7 It is recognised by both parties that employees may be required to work on Sunday to cover emergency situations, out of stock or other unusual demands. The rate of pay for all employees shall be double time at the hourly base rate of pay. 10.1.8 For work on Public Holidays the rate of pay shall be seven hours payment for the Public Holiday at the hourly base rate and payment for hours worked at the hourly driving rate. HOURS OF WORK, RATES OF PAY. 10.1.1 The rates under this Agreement are shown in Attachment A. A 3% increase to the rates of pay shall be applicable on the anniversary of the first and second year of this agreement.. 10.1.2 The ordinary hours of work may be worked over a 38 hour week Monday to Saturday. 10.1.3 The hours for normal day work shall be 4:00am to 8:00pm. HOURS OF WORK, RATES OF PAY. 14.01 (a) All employees who are regularly scheduled more than thirty (30) hours a week will be covered by the Full-Time aspect of this agreement.
HOURS OF WORK, RATES OF PAY. 14.01 The standard work week for the various categories of employees shall be thirty-seven and one half (37.5) hours. The standard workday shall be seven and one half (7.5) hours or as contemplated under Clause 14.02. Where an employee's job requires a full change of clothing, a minimum of 10 minutes will be allotted at the end of the work day to change back into their own clothing. (a) All requests for changing of the work week will be channelled through the Vice President, Human Resources who will involve the Union Negotiating Committee for exploration and discussion of the factors necessitating such change. Every effort will be made to arrive at a mutually satisfactory conclusion. If and where possible the concept of voluntary change will be adopted. (b) Where such changes require the addition of a shift or shifts, the necessary complement will be filled through new hires and volunteers whenever possible. When this is not possible, the shift will be staffed in reverse order of seniority with qualified employees from within the department and classification(s) required. 14.03 The wage rates set forth in Schedule "A" hereto, with increases as set forth in such schedule, shall be paid during the life of this agreement. 14.04 Where the Employer wishes an employee to work overtime, the supervisor shall make best efforts to notify the employee as far in advance as is practicable. 14.05 Hours worked in excess of the standard work day of an employee or in excess of 37.5 hours per week inclusive of hours paid for sickness, vacation or holiday, shall be recognized as overtime and shall be paid at a rate equivalent to one and one-half (1.5) times the regular hourly or weekly rate for such employee provided that hours paid on a daily overtime basis shall not be counted toward entitlement for weekly overtime. The maximum amount of lieu time (including any carry over from the previous year) accumulated and used will not exceed 75 hours per calendar year. Time off in lieu of pay for overtime worked shall be credited at the appropriate overtime rates. The time taken will be as mutually agreed upon between the employee and the Supervisor. A request for banked lieu time for time off will not be unreasonably denied. After October 1st, unscheduled vacation must be taken prior to using banked lieu time.   • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • HOURS OF WORK i) Where employees are now working a longer daily tour, the provisions set out in this Article governing the regular hours of work on a daily tour shall be adjusted accordingly. ii) The normal daily extended tour shall be 11.25 consecutive hours in any 24-hour period, exclusive of a total of forty-five (45) minutes of unpaid meal time. For hybrid schedules, there will be scheduled normal daily tours of seven and one-half (7½) hours and 11.25 consecutive hours per day. iii) Employees working an extended tour shall be entitled, subject to the exigencies of resident care, to paid relief periods during the tour of a total of forty-five (45) minutes. For hybrid schedules, there will also be shifts that provide for relief periods in accordance with Article 15.02. iv) Scheduling issues will be resolved at the local level. v) Where the union and the employer have agreed to or agree to an extended daily tour or hybrid schedule that differs from the normal daily extended tour, the proportion of unpaid time to hours of work shall maintain the same ratio as set out in paragraph ii) and iii) of this Article.
