Shift Differential Pay A $2.50 per hour payment shall be paid to any employee assigned regularly established shift differential assignments. For purposes of this Section, shift differential hours are 5:00 P.M. to 8:30 A.M. and all day Saturday and Sunday. Shift differential is a premium payment and is, therefore, included in the computation of overtime. The schedule for employees working a flex time or compressed schedule shall not be considered shift differential hours.
Straddle Period In the case of Taxes that are payable with respect to a taxable period that begins before and ends after the Closing Date (each such period, a “Straddle Period”), the portion of any such Taxes that are treated as Pre-Closing Taxes for purposes of this Agreement shall be: (a) in the case of Taxes (i) based upon, or related to, income, receipts, profits, wages, capital or net worth, (ii) imposed in connection with the sale, transfer or assignment of property, or (iii) required to be withheld, deemed equal to the amount which would be payable if the taxable year ended with the Closing Date; and (b) in the case of other Taxes, deemed to be the amount of such Taxes for the entire period multiplied by a fraction the numerator of which is the number of days in the period ending on the Closing Date and the denominator of which is the number of days in the entire period.
DEDUCTIONS FROM SALARY A. The Board agrees to deduct from teachers’ salaries membership dues and assessments for the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ County Education Association, the Maryland State Teachers’ Association, and the National Education Association as said teachers individually and voluntarily authorize to deduct through an appropriate written authorization form prepared by the Association. The Board agrees to transmit such monies promptly to the Association. 1. Deductions shall be made in equal installments beginning with the last pay in September or the first pay in October, providing the list of names and dollar amounts of those Association members who authorize deductions is presented to the Payroll Department at least ten (10) calendar days prior to the first pay date in October. 2. The Association will certify to the Board in writing the current rate of membership dues. 3. The Association will give the Board thirty (30) days’ written notice prior to the effective date of any change in the rate of dues. 4. In the event a teacher terminates employment, the Board shall deduct, when possible, the unpaid dues for the current membership year from the teacher’s final check and transmit these dues promptly to the Association.
