Indefinite Leave. Employees shall be granted Indefinite Leave without pay from their positions upon request for reasons of prolonged illness, injury, or disability. The employee’s name shall be placed on indefinite leave. The Employer may then post and fill that position on a permanent basis. Employees on indefinite leave will be required to apply for extensions annually. Upon conclusion of the leave, the employee’s name shall be placed on a re-employment list, and the employee shall have the rights of a seniority-rated employee to apply for and be considered for any position for which they qualify.
