INTENT AND PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT. It is the intent and purpose of the Employer and the Union to set forth herein the agreed provisions covering wages and other specific and general working conditions and to promote and maintain satisfactory relations between both parties. In furtherance of this purpose, the Employer and the Union both acknowledge and agree to honor and recognize rights herein and discharge faithfully the duties and functions attributed to each party.
