Juniors. 28.1 The minimum rate of wages for junior employees shall be the undermentioned percentages of the rates prescribed for the appropriate classification for the work performed by the junior employee. 17 years and under 70% 18 years 80% 19 years 90% 20 years and over 100% 28.2 To determine the correct rate of pay applicable to the employee, the employer may request proof of age from the employee. If the employee demonstrates the equivalent adult competency then the employer may pay a junior employee the adult rate regardless of the above. Junior employees may be employed in any aspect of the employer’s operation.
