Common use of Kilometer Allowance Clause in Contracts

Kilometer Allowance. An employee using a personal automobile for the Employer’s business shall be paid at the rate of thirty-five cents (.35¢) per kilometer. The Employer shall authorize the use of a private vehicle for the Employer’s business and the Employer shall provide adequate third party liability insurance and endorsement for the extent of the Employer’s business use.

Effective July 1, 2007 the rate shall be thirty-eight cents (.38¢) per kilometer. Effective April 1, 2008 the rate shall be forty cents (.40¢) per kilometer. The Employer shall authorize the use of a private vehicle for the Employer’s business and the Employer shall provide adequate third party liability insurance and endorsement for the extent of the Employer’s business use.
