Layoff - Three or More Years of Service Seniority. In the event of a layoff of employees with three or more years' seniority, the following will apply: Where the employee’s position is relocated, they will be offered the position in the new location. An employee may decline an offer pursuant to this section. The Employer will notify employees affected by Clause 13.4, in writing, at least six weeks prior to the effective date. Copies of such notifications will be forwarded to the Union. If the employee has not had the opportunity to work their regularly scheduled shifts during the six-week period after notice of layoff, they will be paid in lieu of work for that part of the regularly scheduled shifts during which work was not made available. An affected employee subject to layoff will have the right to fill vacancies and to displace employees in the following manner and sequence: (1) The employee to be laid off will be the employee with the least service seniority in the same classification.
