Loss of Seniority and Termination. Seniority shall be lost and an employee shall be deemed to be terminated under the following circumstances: (A) where the employee is discharged and the discharge is not reversed through the grievance or arbitration procedure; (B) where the employee resigns, or is retired; (C) where the employee has been laid off for a period of 24 months, or the length of the employee’s seniority, whichever is less; (D) is absent from scheduled work for three consecutive days without a reason satisfactory to the CAO or designate; (E) has been laid off and fails to report to work within 14 calendar days from the date set out in the notice to report for work sent by mail at the last address on the files of the Employer, unless the employee has a reason satisfactory to the CAO or designate. (F) fails to report to work on the expiration of a leave of absence, or uses a leave of absence for purposes other than that for which the leave was granted.
