MANAGEMENT OF TEACHING/LEARNING ENVIRONMENT. 1. Help establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and teaching. 2. Assist the teacher in implementing policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and help maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. 3. Promote appropriate student behavior and correct students’ misbehavior when it occurs in the classroom (e.g., hallways, cafeteria). 4. Encourage mutual respect among students. 5. Take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities from harm. 6. Assist in the care of all specialized equipment (wheelchairs, braces, walkers, lifts, etc.). 7. Monitor student safety in all situations and at all times.
