Common use of Meal and Rest Breaks Clause in Contracts

Meal and Rest Breaks. 3.2.1 An Employee shall be allowed a meal break of not less than 1/2 hour and not more than 1 hour after a maximum 5 hours worked. 3.2.2 An Employee shall be allowed two rest breaks of 10 minutes each during each period of duty, at times specified by his/her Employer.

Of this 45-minute meal break, the first 15 minutes shall be paid to enable the employee to travel to a suitable place to take the break. The remaining 30 minutes shall be unpaid. 8.2. An Employee shall not be allowed required to work more than six (6) hours without taking a meal break of not less than 1/2 hour and not more than 1 hour after a maximum 5 hours workedbreak. 3.2.2 An 8.3. Where possible, an Employee shall be allowed two rest breaks of 10 minutes each will utilise Down Time during each period of duty, at times specified by his/her Employertheir shift to take their meal break.

Meal and Rest Breaks. 3.2.1 The following meal and rest breaks will be provided to employees during the course of each day: (a) An Employee shall be allowed a unpaid meal break of not no less than 1/2 hour and not 30 minutes may be taken at a convenient time during a rostered shift of more than 1 hour after a maximum 5 hours workedhours. The period of the unpaid meal break may be agreed upon between the employer and the employees. 3.2.2 (b) A paid rest break of ten minutes during a rostered shift of more than 4.5 hours. (c) A second paid rest break of ten minutes during a rostered shift of more than 8 hours. (d) An Employee employee shall be allowed two rest breaks not take a lunch break before noon unless the employee has worked a minimum of 10 minutes each during each period of duty, at times specified by his/her Employer3 hours.

For operational reasons as determined by the Employer, an employee may be allowed two rest breaks required to work longer than five (5) hours without a meal break.
