Multiple Grade Classes. When a teacher has a multiple grade classroom, the total number of students will be the teacher’s class load (with no division by grade). a. All split (combined) classes will have a relief unit that is one less than the cap for the lowest grade of the split. b. The District will not form an elementary classroom with a three (3) grades. ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ enrollment is currently capped at 60 per grade level, which is within existing norms for middle school class size. The waiver granted in Section 8.2.B.1 in perpetuity results in an overload situation being artificially constructed annually for ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇. As long as the waiver is in place, ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall not qualify for overload outlined in section I of this agreement.

If this is a multiple grade combination of third and fourth (primary and intermediate) grades, the relief unit will begin to be applied at the ratio of twenty-three (23) student load per teacher. b. In the event that a classroom is formed with three (3) grades spanned, overload will be calculated twenty-one (21) student load per teacher.
